The sensor is attached to the rear mudguard, facing right:

And in this shot, the circuitboard is jammed in with the lead acid battery for my front lights. You can see the contrast control poking out of it.
I’ve now built a ‘custom’ housing for it out of a tupperware-style box.

The display is held on to the handlebars with an elastic band…
